Lake Lowering

The SLA Board has hired an engineering firm to lower lakes #3 and #5. In the past it has been done on a volunteer basis. The board will examine the results and the costs as well as request proposals for a better method of lowering the lakes that would involve modification of the current dam structures.
The lakes are being lowered. It will take about a week to lower and stabilize the lakes. The lowering was started on March 3rd. The lakes will remain low for about a week after they are lowered the required 24 inches. Then the lakes will be filled again which will take about a week.
