Voorhees Environmental Commission Needs Members From Sturbridge Lakes!

Dear Sturbridge Lakes residents:
We received the following email from Jay Sherbine, of the township’s Environmental Commission. This is a very important group and they currently have no members from Sturbridge Lakes. Their next meeting is February 28. If you can, please consider joining the Commission:

“I trust all is well with you. The Voorhees Environmental Commission is looking to be certified in the Sustainable Jersey program sponsored by the NJ League of Municipalities. To that end, we have formed a Green Team of residents interested in environmental projects throughout the township. A few weeks ago, a note was placed in the Voorhees Sun under the Mayor’s column looking for residents that may be interested in this effort and the meeting details were given. We had the initial introduction meeting at the end of January.

As there were no residents of Sturbridge Lakes, Woods, etc. present, I am reaching out to you to elicit residents of your area that may be interested in environmental issues/projects. The Environmental Commission has adopted an Open Space Enhancement Plan as well as an updated Open Space Acquisition ranking and I personally, as well as the other members, want to invite Sturbridge members to participate on the Green Team and have a voice as these and other projects move forward.”

If you are interested, you can call Jay Sherbine directly at: 856-719-1759.
