Please Obey All Lake Rules – No Swimming After Hours

Dear Sturbridge Lakes Homeowners:

Monday, almost an hour after Foxview Beach was closed and the lifeguards were gone, there were four children swimming in the lake and diving off the dock. These children appeared to be under ten years of age.

We have had two drownings of young people in that lake and do not want to see another tragedy.

The Rules of the Association are for everyone’s safety. A child’s life is not worth letting them have a few extra minutes of fun.

There is no swimming permitted in any lake at any time, except only when a lifeguard is on duty and has opened the lake for swimming.

Violation of these rules will result in the families losing their ability to be on the common grounds. Violators may also be prosecuted as trespassers. More important is the risk of life.

Please speak to your children about these rules and please supervise children so that the rules are obeyed. It is deeply troubling to see this risky behavior, which has resulted in drownings.

Thank you
