Dear Sturbridge Lakes Residents

As reported on their Facebook page, the Voorhees Swim Club (which is not associated with the SLA) had someone test positive for Covid 19 who had visited the swim club this past Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The Swim Club is working with state officials, and taking mitigation steps, including contact tracing.

If you were at the swim club on Thursday, Friday or Saturday, please cooperate with any contact tracers you hear from. Also, we ask that you obtain a negative Covid 19 test result before returning to the Sturbridge Lakes beaches. It can’t hurt to take that precautionary measure.

At this time, we are hoping the impact on our residents and operations will be minimal. We will keep you informed if anything changes.

This is a reminder to take seriously the virus, and all of our social distancing and other Covid safety guidelines.

It’s also a good illustration of why we have not yet opened the playgrounds Virus transmission can have very serious health repercussions and can lead to further shutdowns.

Please remember to inform us immediately if you or anyone you have contact with is tested positive for Covid 19 within 14 days after you visited one of the beaches.

Be Safe.

Edward Ferruggia, President, SLA Board of Trustees
